Alginite
Alginite was formed from fossile algae biomass solidified at anaerobic conditions and decayed tuff in volcanic craters of basalt ring. It is a natural material containing 62 mineral trace elements and all kinds of macro- and micro elements can be found in it those are to perform complete melioration, improvement of soil and are necessary for development of plants.

Average content / 1 ton : 60 kg humus, 170 kg lime CaCo3, 9 kg N, 4,2 kg P2O5,
5,7 kg K2O, 10,5 kg Mg, 1,9 kg Fe, 0,1 kg Zn, 0,1 Cu, and further trace elements : Mn, B, Mo, Co, Ni, Li, …etc.
Its content of organic material is three times higher that that of humus content of highest humus-contented soils , Putting it into the soil, it changes structure and water management of soil to a favorable direction. Alginite is an excellent agent for improvement of loose sandy soil.
In quantity of 2-4 kg/m2 in case of average soils (4-6 kg/m2 in case of loose sandy soils ) spreading over the ground evenly and incorporated in it at a deepness of 10-20 cms, alginite is able to make the least infertile sandy soils suitable for growing plants. Its effects on improvement of soil take 4-6 years.
Application of alginite, fertilization may be abandoned. A remarkable surplus on crop may be reached by application of alginite as an agent for improvement of soil. As a starting agent for improvement of soil („starter”), in case of plantaing of trees, shrubs or young vine plants, a quantity of 0,5-3 kg/plant, as durable replacement as enrichment of soil, during preparation of soil at an average 5-10 % is suggested to be incorporated into the soil.
1 kg of alginite is able to trap, contain 1,0-1,3 liter of water and later to forward it to the plants gradually. All kinds of lawn will also be grateful to you for handling with alginite in quantity of 1-2 kg/m2 . After spreading over, you should sprinkle the plants completely with water or sprinkle by making a solution with the same quantity.
At composting – by enrichment of compost with 15 % of alginite – the mineral content of compost can be increased. This mixture promotes maturation of compost, deodorizes and improves water binding ability of matured compost. Alginite may be stored up to limitless time.
Alginite is treasure of Hungarian soil and is produced at several deposits.
